Brand Keyword Search Dashboard

Track Google Search data by brand to identify and analyze search trends.

1. To begin, open your Brand Keyword Search dashboard app. You'll find yourself on the Overview page, where you can identify large keywords.

2. First, notice the filters in your Filters tab. You can leverage these filters to analyze Google data.

3. This is where you'll find keyword search volumes, share of searches, and weighted average cost per click.

You can see that the table currently reflects the keyword parent table, which is synonymous with institution names.

4. If you select the Keyword Detail table, you will see the actual phrases being looked up.

9. To filter by brand, select the Keyword Parent filter. For this example, I'll search for Western Governors University.

14. Now, to see how Western Governors University trends across different states, I've removed the Texas (TX) filter by simply clicking the 'X' next to it.

15. You can now view how Western Governors University and its keyword detail search volume trend across the United States.

A dimension is a category and a metric is what you want to measure within those categories.

19. Lastly, let's navigate to the Data Table tab.

22. In this example, select Year and Keyword Detail. Click the checkmark to confirm your selections.

25. The table reflects your filters, displaying keyword detail search volume, Cost per Click, and Competition Index for Western Governors University, sorted from high to low for each respective year.

26. To export this table, simply right-click within the table and select 'Export Data to Excel'.
