Deleting any User or Production Asset is a snap.

Important Note: before moving forward, by typing 'DELETE' in the box and clicking the delete button, you confirm that you understand your data can not be retrieved under any circumstance.

That said, don't worry – deleting a user will not delete the comments and historical measurements associated with that user!

To move forward with deleting a User, simply deactivate the User upon which a delete icon will appear.

To delete the user, simply:

  1. click on the delete button,

  2. type 'DELETE' (all caps) in the box that presents itself, and

  3. click the Delete button

To fully delete the Battery, follow a very similar set of steps.

After deactivating the Battery:

  1. click on the delete button,

  2. type 'DELETE' (all caps) in the box that presents itself, and

  3. click the Delete button

Finally, what's the difference between Deleting and Deactivating and a Battery?

Deleting an Asset completely removes all information associated with that Asset from the system.

That said, Deletions are perfect for typos, misconfigurations, or Assets that have been divested from your company.

On the other hand, Deactivating an Asset retains the information in the GreaseBook system in case you ever want to bring it back online.

That said, Deactivations are perfect for Assets that are Temporarily Abandoned or Shut In.
