Battery Route Limitation

Limitations on the maximum number of Batteries to be assigned to any one route

One of the biggest differentiators between the GreaseBook app and other oil and gas production softwares on the market is GreaseBook's ability to work in zero internet environments while still giving the Pumper 100% functionality of the app.

Not only can the Pumper continue to add, edit, and review production info uninterrupted, but he can also review years of historical well tests, reasons for downtime, and commentary of the lease – all while offline! ⚡️

That said, to (1) give your device an opportunity to upload/download the info you need while (2) giving you the performance you expect, Executives should assign no more than 50 Batteries to any one route/username.

Although the app will eventually sync, adding more than 50 Batteries to a single route requires an enormous amount of data to be downloaded and processed by your device (think: tickets, gauges, well measurements, battery measurements, comments, well tests....)

To be clear: this is not a limitation of the app

Rather it's the conditions of the low/no connectivity environments in which Pumpers are forced to work.

Still want all your wells on one device?

Break your one mega route into two or more smaller routes.

Not only will this enable your app to sync more quickly, it'll also bring some organization to your GreaseBook.

And no, there's no need to log out and log back in after the initial setup.

In fact, switching routes is a snap!

First you will need to set the routes up by creating new users and assigning them the batteries according to the routes they will follow. Then you will need to sign out and sign back in with each of the users created previously, this step only needs to be completed once.

After that, simply click the man in the lower left hand corner to jump between routes:

Final note: the Pumper App was designed and intended for use by Pumpers and their unique work environments.

And, while we have a fully reactive Executive Applicatios (as wells as reports!) for which Executives can review, we realize that some folks still like to download the app to their device as well.

That said, there is some discussion about bringing an 'app like experience' to Executives – if it gains enough support and priority over other types of functionality, we'll be happy to deliver a tool like this to our clients.
