How Hot Oil Tickets work and why it's important we don't 'double count' our production.

Hot Oil Tickets work a little bit differently then BS&W draws, Oil Sales tickets, and the like.

When a Hot Oil truck visits the well site, it removes X bbls oil from your production tanks.

Basically, the oil is heated up, and generally dumped down the backside of your well.

So, why show this as a negative production?

Because over the next 2-3 days, you'll see your well to begin 'making up' for this loss of production...

For example, in the screenshot below we can see that this particular well was producing 1-2 bbls/day before the Hot Oil Treatment:

Now, after the Hot Oil Treatment we see it's producing closer to 20 bbls/day (!):

So why a spike in production?

Not only has the Hot Oil helped to unblock any build up in the well (it's like heating up honey! 🐝), but the well is also 'reproducing' the same oil that was injected by the Hot Oil truck a few days prior...

And, if we didn't mark your Hot Oil Ticket as negative production, you'd double count the oil that had already been produced before the Hot Oil truck arrived!

In summation, when your Hot Oil Ticket shows negative production – don't worry!

It's behaving precisely as designed πŸ₯³
