Geofences are boundaries to your Wellhead and Battery GPS Locations to further enhance your location tracking features. 🚩

What good does this do? Since you may not arrive to the exact pinpoint location of a wellhead, Geofences allow GreaseBook to detect the area you are in and queue up the Battery, Well or Injector when you arrive on location.

*Please Note: Location permissions must be enabled on your phone in order to allow GreaseBook to notify you of these location actions! πŸ”’

Want to setup your Geofences? We have a couple different options to help you get started.

  • Default Settings for All Assets

  • Upload All Assets at Once

  • Edit/Add Individual Assets

Set Geofence Radius for All Assets

If you already have your Lat/Long locations setup in GreaseBook, simply go to Settings > Company > Settings and the last option is to se the default radius for ALL of your Geofences.

Asset Upload - Unassigned Lat/Long Locations

If you are still working on gathering exact locations, you can upload all the info together in one form.

Click the Locations button located on the black navigation bar. From here you can click the 'import excel template' button to download the template to your computer.

This file will allow you to enter the names of the well or battery (exactly as it appears in GreaseBook), the latitude and longitude as well as the radius of the Geofence in feet. (The recommended default distance for a Geofence is a 100 ft radius.)

Once you have your template complete, simply drag and drop the file or click the box to upload it to GreaseBook!

Edit Individual Wells

If you want to make edits to your Geofences or modify any existing distances, this can be done directly in the app or on the website.

To edit or add GPS coordinates via the executive website, click Settings > Batteries > select the Battery you want to work out of.

Scroll down to the Well Section and open the well you wish to edit or click the '+' sign to add a new well.

On the Manage Well window you can enter/edit Well information as needed. In the right hand corner you can enter GPS coordinates and adjust your Geofence radius via the scroll bar.

Click Save and you're all set!

To edit in the GreaseBook Pumper app, open the Battery you wish you work out of.

Once you open the Battery's page, click the location button next to the Battery name a the top of the screen.

This will direct you to the locations page. Click 'Edit' in the top right of the screen and you can modify the Geofence distance for the Battery by dragging the bar at the bottom of the screen.

Once you have made your changes simply click 'Save' and you're ready to go!

If you need any help with this, send us a message or give us a call and we'd be happy to walk you through it!
