The Aero™ GCX Microclimate Sensor can be installed in just a few minutes using the GreenCast Connect mobile app. Once installed, the sensor automatically begins collecting above-ground environmental data and sending it to GreenCast Connect.

Before You Begin
Before starting the installation:
Attach the atmospheric probe to the right side of the Aero™ GCX Microclimate Sensor before beginning the installation.
The probe is not pre-mounted and must be installed before you continue with the setup in the GreenCast Connect app.
Physically mount the Aero™ GCX Microclimate Sensor in its desired location.
Sign in to the GreenCast Connect mobile app.
Make sure you have access to the QR code on the sensor.
Note: The Aero™ GCX is solar powered and requires no external wiring.
Step 1: Start the Installation
Open the GreenCast Connect mobile app.
Tap the Sensors tab.
Tap the + button.
Select Aero™ GCX Microclimate Sensor.
Tap Install an Aero™ GCX.
Step 2: Confirm the Sensor Installation
The app will ask you to confirm that:
The atmospheric probe has been installed on the right side of the sensor.
The sensor has been physically installed in the field.
Tap Confirm to continue.
Step 3: Set the Sensor Location
A map will appear allowing you to place the sensor at its installed location.
Move the pin until it matches the physical location of the sensor, then tap Confirm Location.
Why is this important?
The sensor location is used to improve atmospheric pressure calculations and ensure accurate environmental measurements.
Step 4: Scan the QR Code
When prompted, scan the QR code located on the Aero™ GCX Microclimate Sensor.
Step 5: Power On the Sensor
Press and hold the Power button for approximately 3 seconds:
The LED indicator will begin flashing light blue while the sensor searches for a cellular connection.
Connection may take up to 3 minutes.
Once connected, you'll receive a Connection Established confirmation in the app.
Step 6: Assign the Sensor
Choose one of the following:
Select an existing Area
Create a new Area by tapping the plus (+) in the top right corner
Next:
Enter a name for the sensor.
Leave the elevation at its default value unless instructed otherwise.
(Optional) Add a photo to help identify the installation location in the future.
Tap Finish to complete the installation.
Installation Complete
Your Aero™ GCX Microclimate Sensor is now installed and will begin sending real-time environmental data to GreenCast Connect.
Once installation is complete, the app will display the sensor's Location Quality.
A Location Quality rating of Fair or above is acceptable for your Aero™ GCX installation.
Tap Finish to complete the installation.
You will be taken to the Sensors page, where you can view your Aero™ GCX sensor and its measurements, including Ambient Temperature, Humidity, and Atmospheric Pressure.
