More localized environmental data is coming to GreenCast Connect.
The Aero™ GCX Microclimate Sensor is designed to bring real-time, location-specific environmental measurements directly into GreenCast Connect, giving you greater visibility into the conditions affecting your turf.
Aero measures environmental conditions where it is installed, including:
Ambient temperature
Humidity
Atmospheric pressure
This localized data will connect directly with GreenCast Connect, helping provide additional context for the information and insights you already use to make management decisions.
Coming Soon: Aero features and how Aero data appears within GreenCast Connect are still being developed and tested. Screenshots, widgets, functionality, and other details shown in this article may change before the full release.
Why Aero?
Weather conditions can vary across a property, and data from a nearby weather station may not always reflect what's happening in the exact areas you manage.
Aero brings environmental measurements closer to your turf.
By installing Aero at your location, GreenCast Connect can use data collected directly on your property to provide a more localized view of current conditions.
For customers also using Spiio™ Soil Sensors, Aero adds another layer of information:
Aero provides insight into environmental conditions above the ground.
Spiio Soil Sensors provide insight into conditions within the rootzone.
Together, these measurements can provide a more complete picture of the environment surrounding your turf.
How Aero Connects to GreenCast Connect
Aero is designed to work directly with the GreenCast Connect platform.
Once an Aero sensor is installed and connected, its measurements are transmitted wirelessly through a cellular connection and associated with its location in GreenCast Connect.
This means you won't need to visit the sensor to collect readings manually.
Aero data will be available within GreenCast Connect alongside other information you already use to monitor your property.
How Aero Data Will Feed Into Your Widgets
One of the most important benefits of Aero is how its localized measurements can support GreenCast Connect widgets.
Aero data is designed to feed into applicable widgets within GreenCast Connect, allowing those experiences to use conditions measured closer to the areas you're managing.
This can help make the information presented throughout the platform more relevant to conditions at your property.
One Aero, One Location
Each Aero sensor provides localized environmental measurements for the location where it is installed.
If you manage multiple locations or areas with meaningfully different environmental conditions, multiple Aero sensors can help you understand and compare those differences within GreenCast Connect.
What This Means for You
Aero isn't just another sensor to check.
Its purpose is to make GreenCast Connect more aware of the environmental conditions occurring at your property.
By bringing localized microclimate measurements into the platform, Aero can add context to the other information you're already monitoring and help build a more complete view of the conditions affecting your turf.
As Aero moves through beta testing, we'll continue refining how this data appears and is used throughout GreenCast Connect.
Stay tuned — more Aero features and guidance are coming soon.
