Installation: Aero™ GCX Connection Blinks

Activating the cellular connection of your Aero™ GCX Microclimate Sensor is a crucial step in ensuring it can transmit data effectively. Your Aero™ GCX uses different light patterns to indicate its current status.

Most blinking lights are part of normal operation, while others may indicate that the sensor needs attention.

Initial Activation:

Press the power button on the sensor. This wakes the sensor and begins the process of connecting to the cellular network.

Understanding the Indicator Lights:

Watch the LED light on the end of the sensor to monitor its connection status.

  • White Blinking Light: A blinking white light means the sensor is attempting to establish a cellular connection. This is normal while the connection process is underway.

  • Green Blinking Light: Indicates a successful connection to the cellular network. Wait for the light to stop blinking green before proceeding.

  • Red or Magenta Blinking Light: A blinking red or magenta light indicates the sensor was unable to establish a cellular connection. Check that you're installing the sensor in an area with adequate cellular coverage, then try again. If the light continues blinking red or magenta after multiple attempts, perform a sensor reset and retry the connection. If the issue persists, contact Support for assistance.

    • If you're having trouble establishing a connection, we recommend performing a Location Quality Test before installation to ensure the location has adequate cellular coverage.

If Connection Fails:

Further Steps: In case the green light is not achieved after several attempts:

  • Try relocating the sensor to a nearby site with potentially better cellular reception.

  • Reach out to support for further assistance.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues:

Reattempt Connection: If you encounter a red or magenta blinking light, follow these steps:

  • Power the sensor off.

  • Wait at least 30 seconds.

  • Press the power button again to retry connecting to the network.
