A reminder to please mark the location and/or remove your soil sensors BEFORE aerification. Your soil sensors are very durable, but they will not withstand piercing or puncturing from an aerifier tine.
If you desire to remove the sensors from the field, please follow the following steps to ensure the proper storage of your soil sensors.

1. Gather the necessary items to properly store your soil sensor which are:

  1. Original box the sensor was shipped into your organization

  2. Tape to ensure proper connection between magnet and sensor top cap during storage period

  3. Soil sensor that has been removed from the ground for aerification or other reasons

  4. Towel to clean off the sensor before power down and storage of the sensor for the off season.

2. Clean off the sensor before storing in a safe location

3. Ensure proper magnet connection to the recessed area of the white top cap to successfully power off the sensor.

NOTE: it is important to clean of this area prior to replacing the magnet. In some instances, dirt can limit the connection and the sensor remains active even in storage situations if not turned off properly.

4. Tape the magnet on

Ensuring that while you place the soil sensor in the box in the next step, the magnet does not come off during this period or at any other time during storage.

5. Place your soil sensor in the original box and store in a dry, safe location until the next field season post-aerification when you desire to install the sensor.
