To ensure your ESG reporting is credible, auditable, and compliant, each data point should be backed by evidence.

What qualifies as evidence?

  • Official documents: policies, internal reports, contracts

  • Source files: Excel spreadsheets, HR databases, utility bills

  • Screenshots: from internal tools or dashboards

  • Third-party audits or certifications

Best practices (based on EcoVadis & CSRD):

  • Attach at least one supporting document per indicator

  • Make sure the evidence is up to date and relevant to the data

  • Label documents clearly to make the audit trail easier

📌 Data without evidence may lead to reduced scores or audit rejection.
