To be able to estimate some carbon emissions of your activity, to create an average of emissions per employee, per revenue, and to compare your emissions with the emissions of companies in the same sector, we need some types of information from your company.

To do this, you must go to the "Data - Company information" module:

Information about your organization

Details of the fields to be filled in:

  • The name of your company;

  • The identifier type and number (SIRET, DUNS, etc);

  • The sector of activity: a drop-down list will allow you to select your sector;

  • The location of the head office: a drop-down list will allow you to select the country;

  • The revenue for the balance sheet period;

  • The associated currency;

  • The organizational and operational boundaries: who is the report for and which entities/subsidiaries is it covering?

  • Your logo (optional);

  • The number of employees FTE (full-time equivalent) including interns and alternates.

There are two ways to calculate the FTE:

1. Average FTE over the balance sheet period (preferable)
Example: if the review covers the period 1 July 2019 - 30 June 2020: for a full-time employee (or trainee) who arrived on 1 January 2020 and is still there on 30 June 2020, then count 0.5 FTE. If this employee is part-time, then count 0.25 FTE.

2. FTE at the end of the balance sheet period.
Example: if the review covers the period 1 July 2019 - 30 June 2020: for a full-time employee (or trainee) who arrived on 1 January 2020 and is still there on 30 June 2020, then count 1 FTE. If this employee is part-time, then count 0.5 FTE.

What about Freelance workers

Do not count them into the number of your employees. They will already appear in the expenses of the company and if you add them in the Employees survey they will be accounted for twice.
However, if you choose to include them in the survey, make sure to categorize the transaction related to them as "Without Impact" in the Financial Overview module.

Multi-entity

If your company has several entities with different names but only subscribed for one report, you can put whichever name you want as long as it remains clear to you and your team. The company name you choose will be the one used for the carbon footprint and certification.
