The Land Use Change Module is designed to assess the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with alterations in land use.

When should you use this module ?

You should consider using this module if your activities include:

  • Converting forests to agricultural lands.

  • Transforming natural landscapes into urban or industrial areas.

🚨 The effects of the Land Use Change are depreciated over 20 years. You should account for a part of these effects for 20 years after the actual change of use.

Data Requirements

To accurately assess the GHG emissions and potential removals related to land use changes, specific data must be collected and reported. The necessary information includes:

  1. Area of Land Changed: You are required to report the total area affected by the land use change, measured in hectares (Ha). This information should cover all areas where a direct change in land use has occurred due to your activities.

  2. Nature of the Land Use Change: It is crucial to specify the type of land use change for each area reported. Examples:

    • Conversion from forest to crop.

    • Conversion from crop to raincoated soil.

Step-by-step guidance

  1. Click on the "+ Add Row" button

  2. Select the "Type" of your land use change. Ex : meadow to crop

  3. Enter the area of land changed in Ha.

Repeat if needed.
