Dear Suppliers,

We are excited to announce that we have updated our supplier score calculation method as of May 23, 2024. This enhancement aims to provide a more precise and accurate assessment of your performance. We understand that changes in scoring can be concerning, so we want to explain the improvements and reassure you of the benefits these updates bring.

Why We Changed the Calculation

Our goal is to ensure fairness, accuracy, and transparency in evaluating supplier performance. The new calculation method considers more detailed factors and provides a clearer picture of each supplier’s contributions and areas for improvement. While some scores might change, these adjustments reflect a more accurate assessment based on the latest standards and practices.

Key Changes in the Calculation

1. Cloud and Own Servers Subsections

- Audit Industry: Previously, if a supplier only used their own servers and not the cloud, their score was adjusted using a complex proportion. Now, we simplify this by allocating 15% to the own servers subsection if the cloud is not used, and vice versa.

- Digital Industry: Similar changes apply, with the own servers subsection now representing 35% if the cloud is not used, and vice versa.

2. Energy Building Subsection

- Previously, we awarded points for DPE (energy performance certificate) and recent renovations. Now, both factors contribute more points, ensuring the subsection total can reach the maximum score.

3. Energy Production Subsection

- Adjustments have been made to how points are awarded for natural gas and electricity shares, incorporating reversed-proportional and average country points to provide a more balanced score.

4. External Services Subsection

- The criteria for awarding points have been refined to ensure that only relevant and verified eco-conditions are considered.

5. Travel Subsection

- Points for travel policies now reflect more nuanced criteria, emphasizing actual implementation over mere existence of policies.

6. Climate Goals

- Suppliers who have not publicly shared their climate goals will now see a significant impact on their score, highlighting the importance of transparency and commitment to climate action.

7. GHG Assessment

- The score reduction for outdated GHG assessments has increased, emphasizing the importance of recent data. Transparency scores now require clear public communication of GHG assessments.

Benefits of the New Calculation Method

- Fairness and Precision: By refining the criteria and scoring methods, we ensure a more accurate representation of your efforts and contributions.

- Encouragement for Improvement: The new method highlights areas where suppliers can improve, driving continuous improvement and excellence.

- Transparency: Clearer criteria and scoring methods help you understand how scores are derived and what factors are most impactful.

We believe these updates will ultimately benefit all our suppliers by fostering a more competitive and improvement-oriented environment. Should you have any questions or require further clarification, our support team is here to assist you.
