Actionable business insight for analyzing current performance and discovering new opportunities

Updated over a week ago

Greenscreens Insights provides a customized dashboard with easy-to-use preset and custom filters. Insights analytics are rich with actionable business insight to help you analyze current performance and discover new opportunities. The data you’ll find in Insights comes from your brokerage’s sales, presented from multiple angles to give you a detailed, comprehensive view of exactly what’s going on. The goals come from you!

Insights Offers:

  • Detailed reports

View specific reports related to Lanes, Mode, Rep, Carriers, Customers, and more. Each report can be exported to a spreadsheet for further analysis, or for sharing with partners and shareholders.

  • Custom goal setting

Monthly goals can be uploaded to the system to provide real-time performance insights that are relevant to your goals.

  • Information on what wins

Gain a snapshot of your team's overall performance or drill down into a specific metric, such as load volume or gross profit distribution.

  • Customer and team numbers

Track customer and team performance, so you know which customers are worth a little extra focus and which reps are meeting or exceeding expectations.

Enabling Insights

To start using Greenscreens Insights, contact your Greenscreens.ai rep for information on pricing and enabling your Insights.

To get you all set up, we’ll need dates, volume numbers, and revenue numbers for your team, and company goals. If you are already using Greenscreens, we’ve probably got most of the necessary load data for this feature. If your TMS doesn’t include data on teams, you can provide the necessary information in a separate table that maps reps to customers. Your Customer Success Manager will be there to answer any questions you might have along the way.

Insights Tabs

Overview

The performance Overview tab shows you a snapshot of how your team is performing through a number of pricing and revenue management metrics. It includes quick summaries of revenue, margin, profit distribution, sales by team member, loads and revenue by transport type, and customer and carrier performance:

Transport

The Transport tab breaks down load numbers and revenue by transport type:

Operational

The Operational Leaderboard shows you a leaderboard of representatives with sales numbers for each:

Sales

The Sales Leaderboard shows sales numbers by representative:

Reps

The Reps Leaderboard shows an overall performance summary for each team member, including both operational and sales numbers:

Carriers

The Carriers tab shows loads, expenses, margin and profit by carrier:

Customers

The Customers tab breaks down your sales numbers by customer. As with the Carriers tab, you can expand each customer’s listing to see loads from that customer grouped by gross profit:

Lanes

This tab shows data by lane for your selected date range. As with the Carriers and Customers tabs, you can expand each customer’s listing to see loads from that customer grouped by gross profit:

Company

The Company tab shows profit, revenue, and loads for your brokerage over your selected date range. The graphs on the Company tab include a line representing your fiscal goals, so you can see how well your company is doing at meeting them:

Teams

This tab shows loads, revenue, and gross profit by team, so you can see which teams are contributing the most (and least) to the company’s success:

Using the Insights UI

Drilling Down

Many of the graphs and tables you’ll see in Insights allow you to take a more detailed look at your data. For instance, on the Transport tab, you can expand a transport type to view sales by customer:

On the Operational, Sales, and Reps tabs, you can see details on a rep’s sales by clicking the arrow next to the rep’s name:

On the Carriers, Customers, and Lanes tabs, expanding a name or lane shows you loads broken out into three profit categories: gross profit of less than $50, gross profit of more than $50, and Negative gross profit:

On the Company tab, you can see precise numbers by hovering your mouse over a date:

Adjusting the Date Range

You can change the date range on your Insights report to a Preset Range (week, month, quarter, or year) or click Custom Range to enter specific dates:

Filtering Your Data

For a still more precise view, you can filter the data in your Insights reports by several details, including customer, carrier, or team member. Click Filters, and then click any field in the pop-up to see available options.

Many tables and graphs in Insights also offer a quick-filter option. For instance, on the Transport Groups table on the Overview tab, you can filter for van loads only by clicking Van and selecting Filter:

Exporting your Data

If you use spreadsheets for analysis, or to integrate with another app, no problem! All of the data in Insights can easily be exported to spreadsheets. To export all the data from a particular tab, click Export as XLSX on the upper right:

Need to see which loads the system has deemed invalid and left out of your numbers? To export loads the system deems ineligible for the system, along with reasons for their ineligibility, hover over the arrow and click Invalid Loads Only:

You can quick-export data for any one item on a table by clicking the item and selecting Export as XLSX. For instance, you can export only flatbed load data by clicking Flatbed and selecting Export as XLSX:

Configuring Tables

The Greenscreens.ai system can pull your sales data, but to keep track of goals and teams, it needs information from you. You can add or update team members, goal numbers, and transport groups by updating their relevant tables. To make it easy, we’ve accompanied each table with its own guide. Configuring tables requires access from Greenscreens. If you don’t have access to your tables, or if you need to give access to another user, contact Greenscreens support.

To manage your teams and goals in Insights:

  1. At the top of the page, click Config Tables:

  2. If you’ve never edited the specific table before, Select the Usage Guide for the table. Here you can find details on the table field, so that you can see exactly what you need to update:

  3. Back in Greenscreens, click the table to open it in Google Docs:

  4. Fill in the table with the new or updated information. Fill in only the actual data. Column names, sheet names, and data format are important and should not be changed:

That’s it! Your updated info is good to go, and ready for analysis in Greenscreens Insights.
