What to Do If LinkedIn Doesn’t Accept Your Verification Documents?

During the document verification process after your LinkedIn profile has been restricted, you may encounter the following error message: "You've already submitted a request. Please try again later."
This is a common issue even in cases where no document submission attempts have been made. In this article, we’ll explain how to work around this and share alternative ways to submit your documents and unlock your profile.

Method 1: Regain access via password reset and a new Email

Go to the LinkedIn login page => click "Forgot password?" => enter the current email address linked to your account.
On the next screen, click "Can’t access your email?" => enter an alternative email address that you currently have access to.

LinkedIn will redirect you to the same identity verification screen, but this time it should work correctly and allow you to complete the process.
Once your documents are successfully submitted, LinkedIn will send you an email with instructions to reset your password and lift the restriction from your account.

Method 2: Contact LinkedIn support via a direct form

If the first method doesn’t work, try contacting LinkedIn Support using this direct form:
https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/ask/TS-EPR

When filling out the form, don’t describe the reason for the restriction - instead, briefly and clearly state the technical issue: your account has been restricted, but you’re unable to complete the identity verification process because Persona isn’t accepting your documents.

In most cases, you’ll receive an automatic email response stating that your account has been temporarily restricted due to suspicious activity, and that access will be restored soon (although it is not true).

You should reply to that email within the same thread, without creating a new support ticket. In your reply, we recommend: saying that you’re surprised by the restriction (rather than saying you disagree), mentioning that you haven’t engaged in any of the listed violations (if that’s true), and asking when the restriction will be lifted and how you can submit your documents, since the Persona form shows the error "You've already submitted a request. Please try again later."

In most cases, LinkedIn will then send you a direct link for uploading your documents, which should work properly, allowing you to complete verification and regain access.

Method 3: Reach out to LinkedIn via social media

If none of the above methods work, try contacting LinkedIn through social media, Twitter (X), or Instagram.

  • Write a tweet describing your situation: that your account is restricted, you can’t complete verification, and support hasn’t yet resolved your issue. On Instagram, it’s often better to send a direct message.

  • Be sure to tag the official LinkedIn accounts (@LinkedIn or @LinkedInHelp) in your tweets or posts to increase the chances that your message will be seen.

*Unfortunately, none of these methods guarantees that your account will be restored. But in a situation where the standard verification process doesn’t work, it’s better to take action and try all available alternatives, as LinkedIn rarely resolves such issues on its own without user initiative.
