How does the Referral Program work? 

Let me explain to you how our Referral program works.

The Sender of the link is able to start participating in the Rewards program by signing up in your shop.

Also, the Sender does not have to create the link since there is already a unique link in the shop which can be found on the Rewards page, in the Rewards tab, and on the Referral page (by the way, you are able to write down yourshopdomain/pages/referral). Then the Sender may copy this link and share it with a Receiver via any social media platform.

And, there is also the essential condition for the Receiver, they must be a new customer for your shop, which means that they must not have an account or any orders placed in your store.

The Receiver should follow the referral link, which was sent by the Sender, and sign up in your shop, then they will be able to see and use the Reward in the pop-up, in the Rewards tab, or on the Rewards page (yourshopdomain/pages/reward).

So the Sender on their end will receive their Reward once the Receiver will place the first order in your shop.

Also, on the Referral page, the users may check the status of the referred friends.

How to get started with the Referral program?

Activity of the users

Here in the Activity section, you may check the Referral program activity to see how many members there are in the program, total revenue from the program, and the orders made:

You may see which customers referred their friends and the order details as well.

Rewarding members

To set rewards for the Referral program, please, go here: Dashboard > Loyalty and Rewards > Referral program > Rewarding:

Sender Option

The sender will get the reward by email when the receiver will make a purchase on your shop. You can reward the sender with points:

Or discounts like fixed amount discount, a percentage discount, free shipping or free product:

You may assign a Gift card reward for the sender option:

You may reward the sender according to the amount the receiver of the link spent on the store with the "X points for every Y spent" reward:

You can choose the "Free product" as a reward too:

Also, you may choose "No reward" option as a reward for the sender of the referral link.

Receiver Option

When following the referral link, the receiver has to connect to the store (i.e. create an account on your shop) in order to get a reward. You can reward the receiver with discounts like fixed amount discount, a percentage discount, or free shipping:

Also, you may choose "No reward" option as a reward for the receiver of the referral link.

More options

You can choose if you want to apply the Fixed amount and Percentage discounts for the Sender and the Receiver to all orders, selected collections, or selected products and require a minimum purchase amount by clicking on the "More options" link:

Btw, both the Sender and the Receiver reward discounts have the "Customer eligibility" feature and "Discount expirations in days" as well:

As for Free shipping discount, you may set up minimum purchase requirements, exclude some shipping rates, choose customer groups, apply to shipping to certain countries and specify discount expiration in days:

Manage reports

In the reports section, we track the users who may cheat on the program.

Now we track users and send you notifications:

  • If the order is made by the sender of the referral link;

  • If the receiver has the same initials as the sender;

  • If the receiver has the same shipping address as the sender.

All of the suspicious activity will be displayed on the Reports section and you may manage such cases from the admin panel. To set up notifications to your email, you may go to the Settings section and enter your email address:

NOTION: When you receive notifications about suspicious activity in the Referral Program, you will be able to see which people tried to abuse it and will be given the matter of abuse, e.g, the receiver has the same initials as the sender. In these cases, the Receiver of the link does get a discount and can use it on their purchase, Growave only reports to you about such occurrence so you can take action on your end individually and you may decide on your end whether to fulfill this customer's order or not.

However, our app does block the reward for the Sender of the link and you may assign a status as Declined and the Sender will no longer take part in the Referral program. If you set up the status as Approved, we will send an email with the reward to the Sender of the link.
