We understand how important it is for you to receive your Grubby box on the day you expect. We do everything we can to make sure your box arrives on time. Meal kits
For many of our recipes, the produce is fine to eat for a number of days after your chosen delivery date even when not refrigerated. However. if your Grubby item comes in a pouch, we refer to it as a chilled item.
The chilled item must be refrigerated on the nominated day of delivery for health and safety reasons (i.e. if you're a Monday customer it needs to be refrigerated on the Monday). This is because our packaging is tested to 24 hours. We're working on better packaging solutions! If your delivery is delayed, we don't want to waste the whole box for a minority of chilled items, which is why we allow the box to be delivered a day late, rather than asking our couriers to dispose of the box if it cannot be delivered on the specified day.
Whilst plant-based food can often remain safe to eat when left out of the fridge, we recommend that you do not consume the item if refrigeration was not possible on your chosen delivery day. If you do choose to consume the items this is at your own discretion.
Ready meals
We work hard to ensure your ready meals arrive on time and in perfect condition. However, in the unusual event your delivery is delayed by a day, here’s what you need to know:
Check the temperature: Your meals are shipped frozen. If they arrive still frozen, you can pop them straight into your freezer and store them as usual.
If partially or fully thawed: As long as the meals are still cold to the touch and chilled (below 5°C), then it’s safe and they can be stored in your fridge and used within 4 days.
Do not refreeze if the meals have thawed.
If your meals arrive warm, do not consume. Please get in touch with our customer service team at the time your delivery arrives so we can handle this. If you get in touch several days later it’s much harder for us to help.
