What is the delivery charge
Our delivery charge is £4.99. Delivery actually costs us a lot more than this. We didn’t want to pass on the full cost of delivery to our customers, but instead have introduced the minimum delivery fee to ensure we can offer the quality of product and service you’ve come to expect.
On a more positive note, we have a delivery pass via our GRUBBY plus membership. We will cover the delivery charge for a small fee in exchange for your ongoing loyalty.
You can enrol for GRUBBY plus via your Grubby account in 'Settings'
It's £5.99 for the monthly GRUBBY plus pass
It's £39.99 for the annual GRUBBY plus pass
You can find out more about Grubby plus here.
See the details below, and don’t forget you can also get a £20 credit for each friend that you refer!
Why did we introduce a delivery charge?
It’s a decision we haven’t taken lightly. We are very aware that we’re not the only ones feeling the pinch right now. Since we launched in 2019, the cost of food, packaging and deliveries have skyrocketed at a rate that our small shoulders could no longer bear. We simply had to take this step to keep moving forward and deliver you more choice, flexibility, and deliciousness.
However, we are also planning on lots of amazing improvements in 2023 and we think Grubby will remain great value and we hope you do too!
🫑 We’re doubling expanding our weekly menu choice to make sure there’s something you love each week
🫑 We’ve got 100 new recipes coming in 2023, taking our range to 250!
🫑 We’re expanding our bicycle and emission free delivery network!
….and much much more.
Cost of living is a well documented phrase, but for full transparency to give you an idea of the challenges we’re facing. The cost of our cardboard boxes have more than doubled since we first launched. 📦and fuel costs for delivery have increased 11%. 🚚 In the last year alone the price of aubergines 🍆 increased by 29%, cauliflowers by 21%, courgettes by 40%, peppers by 33% and portobello mushrooms by 24% .
It pains us to have to increase our prices at a time when many are feeling the pinch but virtually everything is going up and I hope you can appreciate why we’re having to make these changes.
Is there no other way around it?
We are doing everything we can to minimise cost increases to customers. For some elements of the Grubby box there are cheaper alternatives. However, those cheaper alternatives always come at the expense of either quality, or environmental impact. We are committed to being a B-corp and compromising on this is not something we want to do or at least we want to minimise it as much as possible!
We have also introduced Grubby plus to give customers the option to get free delivery. You can find more about that here. But an annual Grubby plus subscription can work out at just 40p per delivery. You can sign up to Grubby plus from within your account from 1st March.
