Prosecution users are able to make requests to manage interviews for case preparation and discovery purposes. When a discovery lead request is submitted by prosecution, managers at the CAC will receive those requests and be able to approve, modify, or decline the request.
Approving a discovery lead request for an interview will designate the requesting user as the “discovery lead” for that specific interview, which allows the user to share that specific interview with other users with the 'prosecution' or 'defense' organization types. They will also have the ability to add new users as “prosecution” or “defense” users if they do not already have a Guardify account.
When a Discovery Lead request is submitted, all manager users at the CAC will receive an email notification, and those requests can be approved in the “requests” tab when logged into Guardify. Click “Messages” in the left hand navigation to find any pending requests.
When clicking "review" on a discovery lead request, the manager will then select the interview that correlates with the interviewee name that was submitted with the request. If the requested interview does not appear in the initial results, managers can click "search for an interview" to access a list of all interviews that they have access to to find the requested interview
Once an interview is selected to share with the prosecution user that made the request, the approving manager will be able to choose which permissions to apply for the requesting prosecutor, as well as the maximum access rights that they are able to grant when sharing the interview with additional prosecution or defense users.
Once the discovery lead request has been approved, the request will be marked as "approved" and will link directly to the interview that the request was approved for.
The prosecution user will then be able to access and share that interview with prosecution and defense users that already have Guardify accounts, as well as create new users to share with them directly. They will only be able to set up new users as prosecution or defense users.
