If you have an interview in Guardify that you would like to duplicate for the purposes of using the same evidence across multiple interview cards, each interview has a "duplicate" option. Duplicating an interview will make an identical copy of the interview and all of the files uploaded to it. The duplicate interview can then be managed independently from the original interview that it was duplicated from.
Note: All files in the interview must have completed processing for the "Duplicate" option to appear.
To duplicate an interview, click the 3-dot menu at the top right of the Case card in your list of cases, and click "duplicate."
You can also duplicate the case if you already have the case open by clicking the 3-dot menu to the right of the "share" button.
Once you click duplicate, the list of included interview files will come up with all files auto selected. You can de-select any evidence in this list that you do not want to duplicate.
After you confirm your selections and click "next" you will be asked to confirm the details of the new, duplicate copy of the interview you are creating. Any fields highlighted in yellow will come in auto-filled with any details that were filled in for the original interview. You can fill in or change any of these fields for the new case, and those changes that are being filled in will not be reflected in the original case.
Note: if you have the Unique Case IDs account setting on, the CAC case ID field will come filled in with the same Case ID as the original case, with a number (1) in parenthesis.
If you would like your new duplicated interview to link back to the original interview, you can leave the "Link to the original interview" check box selected.
This will allow users with access to either interview the ability to see that there may be another relevant interview associated. This is useful for sibling interviews, for example.

Once you fill in the details for the new case, click "Duplicate."
After clicking the "Duplicate" button, you will be brought back to the original case that you chose to duplicate, and a pop up message will appear that notifies you that your case is in the process of being duplicated. Click "dismiss" to close this message.
When you go back to your list of interviews, you will immediately see the new duplicated interview in your list of cases. If you open this interview and see that there are no files listed, that just means that the duplication has not completed yet, and you will receive an in-app notification when that interview is ready.
After an interview is duplicated, you are able to edit the interview and continue to upload new evidence to it that will not reflect in the interview that it was duplicated from.
Additionally, the history of your new duplicated case will start from the date that the case was duplicated.
Any previous case history on the original case will stay with the original case, and will not be reflected in the duplicate version.

FAQ
After I duplicate an interview, if I add evidence to the original interview, will those files also upload to the duplicate version of the interview?
No, duplicating an interview only duplicates an existing interview as-is, and allows for uploading any future evidence to each interview file independently of each other. For this reason, we recommend waiting to duplicate an interview until after you're sure all evidence has been uploaded.
β
If I duplicate an interview, does it duplicate my account storage total?
Yes. Duplicating an interview is essentially uploading the evidence in an interview again, which will add to your total account storage.
β
If I duplicate an interview, will the duplicated interview be shared with the same people that the original interview was shared with?
No. Duplicating an interview is essentially like creating a brand new interview. There will be no share history for your new duplicated interview once it is created, and you will need to share that interview independently of the interview it was duplicated from.
