LE: Importing a Forensic Interview into a Case

How to import a shared Forensic Interview directly into a case in your Agency's Guardify Account.

Updated over 3 months ago

When a Child Advocacy Center shares an interview with you with the option to import the interview, this means that you will be able to save a copy of that interview into one of your Guardify cases as evidence. Importing this interview means you have full access to that interview, while still allowing the Child Advocacy Center to maintain custody of their copy of the interview.

In order to import an interview into your Guardify license, the CAC must first share the interview with you with the option to import, or you must have custody of the interview in their CAC's Guardify Account.

Once the interview has been shared or transferred to you, you will log into Guardify and select the center that has given you access to the interview.

Then, click “Interviews” in the left hand menu, and then locate the interview. If it was shared with you, it will be in the “Shared With Me” tab at the top of the screen. If you are the custodian of the interview, you will see it in "My Cases."

Click into the interview and then click the "Import" button at the top right of the video.

On the "Import Case" screen, if you have more than two accounts you are associated with, you can select the destination for the import.

Then, select which case you would like to import the interview into. You can either search through cases you have already created in your license, or create a new one by clicking “Create Case.”

Select the case you want to Import this interview into, and then click “Review” at the bottom right.

You will be asked to review the details of the interview and the case that you are uploading it into. Then, click “Import” at the bottom right.

It will ask you to confirm the import and inform you that this cannot be undone. Click "Confirm Import"

You will get a system message letting you know that this interview has been added to your case.

From there, you can switch over to your agency's Guardify Account, and access the case that you uploaded this interview into.

When you open this case, the interview will be listed in the case details under the “Interviews” section of the case.

Clicking "View CAC Copy" will take you back to the copy of the interview in the CAC's Guardify account if you still have access to it.

Clicking on the interview will open a window that lets you review the details of that interview, and the evidence associated with it.

The files associated with this interview will also be listed below in your case files with the rest of the evidence.
