Uploading a Video to YouTube from Your Phone
Open the YouTube App: Ensure you're signed in with your Google account. If you don’t have one, create a free YouTube account.
Tap the Create Button: This is the plus sign (+) at the bottom of the screen.
Select 'Upload a Video': Choose this option and allow YouTube access to your phone’s video files if prompted.
Choose Your Video: Select the video from your phone's gallery.
Edit Your Video (Optional): Trim, apply filters, or add music as needed.
Add Video Details: Enter a title, description, and set the privacy setting to "Public". This is critical to ensure your video is viewable on the Vetevate platform.
Select 'Next' and Review Visibility Settings: Confirm the audience preference is set to 'No, it’s not Made for Kids'.
Upload Your Video: Tap "Upload" to start the process.
Creating and Copying the Video URL
Access Your Video: After uploading, go to the “Library” or “Your videos” section in the app.
Find Your Video: Tap on the uploaded video to open it.
Share the Video: Tap the share icon (an arrow) below the video.
Copy the Link: Select “Copy link” from the sharing menu.
Paste the URL: Use the copied URL in the Practice Video field on Vetevate.
Uploading a Video to YouTube from Your PC
Visit YouTube: Go to YouTube in your browser and sign in with your Google account.
Click the Create Button: Find the camera with a plus sign at the top right corner.
Select 'Upload Video': This takes you to the upload page.
Choose Your Video File: Click "Select Files" to browse and select the video from your computer.
Enter Video Details: Add a title, description, and optional thumbnail or playlist. Set the privacy setting to "Public" to ensure visibility on Vetevate.
Select 'Next' and Review Visibility Settings: Confirm the audience preference is set to 'No, it’s not Made for Kids'.
Upload Your Video: Click "Upload" to start the process.
Creating and Copying the Video URL
Access Your Video: Go to YouTube Studio and view your videos from the dashboard.
Locate the Video: Click the uploaded video to open its details page.
Copy the Video Link: Copy the URL from your browser’s address bar.
Paste the URL: Use the copied URL in the Practice Video field on Vetevate.
Important Privacy Settings for YouTube
To ensure your video displays on Vetevate, set your YouTube video to public and enable Allow embedding in YouTube Studio settings.
Changing YouTube Privacy Settings from Private to Public
On PC
Visit YouTube Studio: Go to YouTube Studio in your browser and sign in.
Navigate to Your Videos: Click “Content” in the left-hand menu to view your uploaded videos.
Find the Video: Locate the video, hover over it, and click the pencil icon or "Details" to edit.
Edit Privacy Settings: In the "Visibility" section, change the setting from "Private" to "Public".
Save Changes: Click "Save" to apply the new settings.
On iPhone
Open YouTube App: Ensure you're logged in with your Google account.
Go to Your Channel: Tap your profile icon in the top right and select "Your Channel."
Access Your Videos: Find the video in the “VIDEOS” tab.
Edit the Video: Tap the three dots next to the video and select “Edit.”
Change Privacy Setting: Switch from “Private” to “Public”.
Save Changes: Tap “Save” to confirm.
On Android
Open YouTube App: Ensure you're logged in with your Google account.
Access Your Channel: Tap your profile picture in the top right and choose "Your Channel."
Locate Your Video: Find the video in the “VIDEOS” tab.
Edit the Video: Tap the three dots next to the video and choose “Edit.”
Adjust Privacy Settings: Change the setting from “Private” to “Public”.
Save Changes: Tap “Save” to confirm.
Important Reminder
For your video to be viewable on the Vetevate platform, the privacy setting must be "Public" on YouTube. Double-check this setting before submitting the video URL to prevent visibility issues.
