Introduction – What are the benefits of the Infoterminal mode?

The InfoTerminal mode is ideal for secure and intuitive use of Guestnet on touchscreens in public spaces – such as kiosks or info points.
It ensures an optimized display, prevents incorrect inputs, and offers a modern, contactless guest experience.

Overview of the functions

These functions are available to you in infoterminal mode:

  • QR code instead of input forms

Forms and order masks are replaced by QR codes – for simple mobile input.

    The following modules are affected:

    • Weekly program with registration function

    • Events with registration function

    • Wellness & Beauty

    • Shop

    • Vouchers

    • Content pages with forms

    • Menu with ordering function

    • Feedback

    • Green Option

    • Breakfast order

    • Room service

    • Timetables

  • External links via QR code
For external links, a QR code appears instead of the target page.

  • Touch optimizations in the user interface

    • Phone, mail, and web icons in POI entries are hidden.

    • WhatsApp icon is deactivated (if previously activated).

    • Input fields for menu selections are hidden when active.

  • Automatic screensaver
After a language has been selected and there is no activity for 120 seconds, a screensaver is activated and the start page is reloaded.

  • Individual visibility of modules and sliders
Content can be selectively shown or hidden for the touchscreen.

How to use the InfoTerminal

  1. Use the appropriate URL structure:

    https://[URL].guest.net/?infoterminal=1
    • Replace [URL] with your individual Guestnet Subdomain.

    • The parameter infoterminal=1 automatically activates touchscreen optimizations.

  2. Show or hide modules selectively:

    • In the backend under Modules > Visibiliy:

      • Use the option "Show only on InfoTerminal" to display content exclusively on the touchscreen.

      • Or "Hide on InfoTerminal" to specifically hide content from the touchscreen view.

  3. Customize slider content:

    • In the Slider Management section, you can check the option “Hide on InfoTerminal” for each individual slider.

  4. Use QR code redirects for forms and external links:

    • Input forms and order pages (see affected modules above) do not open directly but are displayed as a QR code.

    • External links (e.g., via the “Website” or “External Link” field) behave the same way.

  5. Add additional URL parameters (optional):

    • Example with enabling scrollbuttons:

      https://hotelname.guest.net/?infoterminal=1&scrollbuttons=1
    • You can find more useful parameters in the following overview.

Recommended settings for kiosk systems

  • Return to home screen after inactivity (via kiosk system)

  • Whitelist for allowed hosts: e.g., only guestnet.info, guest.net

  • Block external links: prevents leaving the Guestnet interface

Additional parameters for individual customizations

FAQ about the InfoTerminal

Guestnet is not displayed correctly on the InfoTerminal?

With the latest frontend update, Angular was updated from version 17.3.0 to 17.3.2.
By default, Angular tests compatibility with the last two versions of common browsers.
If there are display issues, please check whether your browser is up to date.
