Introduction - Whtar are the benefits of this module?

The Self-Check-Out module helps you digitize the departure process and enables payments directly within the Guestnet platform. Guests can independently view and settle their bill โ€“ offering a modern, contactless experience.


Feature Overview

The following features are available with the Self-Check-Out module:

  • Digital payment directly in Guestnet

  • Optional full check-out with PMS ASA

  • Automated check-out email sent to guests

  • Room-specific configuration

  • Tipping option during payment

  • Integration with payment service provider and PMS

How to set up the Self-Check-Out module

  1. Request activation:
    Send a short email to ๐Ÿ“ฉ support@guest.net to activate the "Self-Check-Out" and "Payment" features.

  2. Configure settings in the backend:
    Go to My Stay > Settings > Self-Check-Out and define:

  • Mode: Deactivated, Payment only, or Full Check-Out

  • Timing: On the day of departure or the day before

  • Time: Set the hour from which check-out becomes available

3. Enable tipping:

  • In ASA (PMS):

    • System Configuration > Operation > Billing > Extra for tips: TRINKGELD Trinkgeld

    • System Configuration > Operation > Communication > Import consumption booking > TRINKGELD Trinkgeld

4. In the Guestnet backend: Ensure the tipping option is enabled

5. Room-specific control:
Under Current Stay, you can enable or disable Self-Check-Out for individual
rooms.

6. Enable automated email:
Activate the option Send automated Self-Check-Out email to grant guests access
automatically.

FAQ about the module

Does the guest need to be logged in to use the module?

No, the guest receives an email with a direct link to the Self-Check-Out feature.

Does full check-out work with any PMS?


Currently, full digital check-out is only available with PMS ASA.
The payment display is functional with all PMS systems that provide invoice access.

How is tipping handled?

The tip is added to the total bill and automatically recorded in PMS ASA.

Is the payment tracked in the system?


Yes, after successful payment:

  • A confirmation email is sent

  • The invoice status is updated to โ€œPaidโ€

  • The payment option is disabled for the guest

Can the guest choose their departure time?

Yes, if full check-out is enabled, the guest can choose:

  • Now

  • Later (today) โ€“ with time selection

  • Tomorrow โ€“ with time selection
