Introduction – How does this module benefit You?

The Menu module helps You present Your culinary offerings digitally and receive orders online. It provides a modern, contactless experience – directly integrated into Your Guestnet platform.


Function Overview

These features are available in the Menu module:

  • Digital menu creation with individual categories (lunch, dinner, etc.)

  • Multilingual menu management (DE, IT, EN) with automatic translation

  • Allergen and classification labeling with symbols

  • Menu export as a PDF with personalized design (if included in the contract)

  • Online menu selection and ordering option for guests

  • Standard menus for consistent daily content

  • Copy & planning function for future menus

  • Custom info fields & content blocks

How to set up the Menu module

  1. In the backend, open Guestapp > Menu

  2. First, create a category under Settings > Categories

  3. Then click + New Entry to create a menu

  4. Fill in the menu in the default language (e.g., German)

  5. Click “IT” or “EN” and then “Automatically translate from DE”

  6. Add dishes, descriptions, prices, and allergens if applicable

  7. Select a date and a suitable category for the menu

  8. Activate if needed:

    • Daily consistent menu (à la carte menu)

    • Menu selectable online (under Settings > Settings)

  9. Add internal info texts or an introduction

  10. Save the menu


FAQ about the module

Does the guest need to be logged in to view or order from the menu?

No, the menu is visible even without a login. For ordering, an assignment can be made. If the main menu is configured to restrict access to the “My Stay” section to logged-in guests only, this section will be visible exclusively to authenticated users.

Can You differentiate menus by days or target groups?

Yes, via categories such as "lunch menu", "children's menu", etc., and by date.

Can content be translated automatically?

Yes, after entering in German, You can trigger the translation into IT and EN with a click.

How are allergens & classifications managed?

Under Settings > Classifications/Allergens > New Entry, including symbol and description.

Can menus also be exported?

Yes, if menu export is included in the contract, a PDF with individual design can be downloaded.

What happens to old menus?

They can be edited, copied, or deleted at any time.
