What are interviewer tags and when should you use them?

Interviewer tags can be used to categorize your interviewers into groups, and can be used during scheduling to filter exactly who gets suggested by Guide AI.

For example, when setting up your requirements, you can specify that Guide pulls interviewers that are L6 or L7 and speak Spanish:

Creating tags and assigning Interviewers

Tags can be grouped together (such as different experience levels) or created "ungrouped". Head to the Interviewer tags tab in Organization Settings to manage tags.

Edit and assign interviewers to a tag

To assign interviewers to a tag, click the 3-dot menu for the tag and select "Edit interviewers for a tag"

Using tags when setting up scheduling defaults

To utilize tags in your interviewer requirements, you have two options:

  1. Add a "training path" requirement

  2. Add a "smart match" requirement

In both cases, you can then further filter the Interviewer selection by a combination of Tag Filters:

When to use a Training Path requirement

Training paths should be used when Interviewers must complete a # of shadows or reverse shadows to become qualified to run that type of interview. Good examples of Training paths include:

  • Engineering Culture

  • Advanced Backend Architecture

  • Values Fit

When to use a Smart Match requirement

Smart Match requirements should be used when training is not required, but you still want to select from a pool of interviewers based on the inclusion (or exclusion) of their assigned tags. Good examples include:

  • Must include any of L5, L6 or L7 experience level tags

  • Must not include any of EMEA or APAC location tags

Using tags during scheduling

During scheduling, Guide will show pre-defined tags underneath each Interviewer requirement. You can further add tag filters during scheduling at any time.

When you "Select interviewer", Guide will only show those interviewers matching the selected Tag filters.
