How to update the candidate portal interview plan ✏️
Updated over 5 months ago

Accurate interview plans help organize schedules, prepare interviewers, and provide candidates with the right information. Updating these plans in the correct places ensures everyone is well-informed and ready! 💪

In Guide, users with the Manager role or higher can create customized candidate portal templates, such as by department, to quickly apply across all related roles. This article, however, will focus on updating the candidate portal for a specific job or candidate.

For the best results, it's recommended to update interview plans at the job level in the Guide. This way, you save the plan for future candidates interviewing for the same role.

That said, we understand there are some times you may need to make bespoke changes. ✏️ Below will walk you through updates at both the job (recommended) and candidate level.

How to update the candidate portal interview plan:

At the job level:

  1. Navigate to the Jobs page in Guide. Either from the candidate profile or in Guide itself.

  2. Search for and open the job in which you would like to update the interview plan for.

  3. Click "Edit" next to Interview plan

  4. Make your edits: You can drag and drop to change the order of interviews or click into an interview to update the title and/or description. You may also delete the interview altogether using the trashcan icon.

  5. Save changes: Once edits are completed, these changes will now be saved for all candidates assigned to that job moving forward. *For any active candidates associated with that job prior to edits, you will find an "Outdated from job interview plan" warning under the Interview plan section. You may resync them to the updated version from the candidate profile by clicking "Pull latest."

Updating at the candidate level: Click on "View guide" from the candidate profile and repeat steps 3 and 4 above.

Conclusion

By updating the interview plans at the job level in the Guide, you set a standard plan for all candidates under that job. For unique cases, the specific candidate profile allows you to tailor the interview plan as needed. ⭐️
