Check or set incident weather
Weather drives how a release or plume behaves, so the Common Operating Picture (COP+) puts current conditions for your hazard area in the top grey menu bar. The widget appears only after a hazard area exists.
Before you start
Define a hazard area. No hazard area, no weather widget.
Check automatic weather
Automatic weather is the default. The widget shows current conditions for the hazard area, sourced from openweathermap.org.
Read the conditions directly from the widget in the top grey menu bar.
For the extended and detailed forecast, click the web link. It opens openweathermap.org at the hazard area location.
Set manual weather
Field observations beat a feed. When your on-site reading differs, enter it:
Click the Manual Weather button.
In the pop-up window, enter the wind direction and speed.
Save. The automatic weather icon in the menu bar is replaced with the manual icon, so everyone can see the conditions were entered by hand.
Changing wind settings requires the Manage Wind Direction permission. See Understand roles and permissions.
Air Quality Index
An AQI reading sits beside the weather widget in the top menu bar.
