Assign and edit positions
Positions turn a list of invitees into a command structure. The Session Initiator or an Administrator assigns each user a position from the pre-determined list, or adds a custom one on the fly. Positions drive the org chart and structured breakout rooms in your Virtual Emergency Operations Centre (VEOC) session, so assign them early and keep them current.
Before you start
You need Initiator or Administrator access. Users cannot edit their own positions. See Understand roles and permissions.
Assign a position
Click the User icon and select the user, then Edit Position.
Type any letter in the Position field. A dropdown lists the pre-determined positions available.
Select the position and click SET. The position updates and a confirmation dialog appears.
You can also assign straight from the org chart: right-click a position box and assign the user there.
Add a custom position
If the position you need is not in the dropdown:
Type the title in the Position field and click Add Custom Position.
Click Submit, then set it to assign the position to the user. A success notification appears in the top right-hand corner.
A custom position appears at the bottom of the org chart, not connected to any other roles. The Initiator can reposition it when editing the chart.
Remove a user from a position
Open the user's position through Edit Position.
Click the remove button. A dialog confirms the update.
On mobile: open Menu, select Users, pick the user, then Edit Position. The mobile org chart is view-only, so all position changes go through the user list.
