Set the session emergency level
The Emergency Assessment Matrix assigns a Level of Emergency to your Virtual Emergency Operations Centre (VEOC) session. Answer a guided questionnaire or assign the level directly, then post it: the dashboard widget updates and an Alert message hits the Forum so everyone works from the same severity.
Any user in the session can post an emergency level.
Before you start
You need to be in an active session. Your company's matrices are pre-configured; you pick one, you do not build one. Posted levels can be updated but never undone, so check your answers before posting.
Steps
In the left-hand menu, select Emergency Assessment Matrix.
Select your matrix from the dropdown.
Choose how to assign the level:
Self-guided Questionnaire: answer a series of questions and the matrix determines the appropriate level.
Assign Manually: select the emergency level directly.
Click Submit. A preview of the results appears. For the questionnaire it shows the Level of Emergency, Consequences, and Likelihood; a manual assignment shows the level only.
Pick your option:
Reset closes the results without posting, so you can start the determination over.
Post to Forum updates the Level of Emergency widget on the dashboard and posts an Alert message in the Forum.
On mobile: select Emergency Assessment Matrix from the main menu. The flow is identical; posting sends the Alert message to the Forum.
Update the level as the incident evolves
Select Emergency Assessment Matrix again to relaunch the assessment and post a new level. Each post is permanent: the new level supersedes the old one on the dashboard, but nothing posted to the Forum can be undone. That is by design; the escalation history is part of the incident record.
