Good Habit: Setting Repeat

The Repeat setting is one of the most important parts of creating a habit. It's the schedule that tells Habitify when to show a habit on your daily list in the Journal (on mobile) or the List View (on web/desktop).

Setting the right schedule is key to building a consistent routine. When you create or edit a habit, tap on the "Repeat" section to open the scheduling options.

Here’s a guide to the different ways you can set up your habit's frequency.

Weekly Scheduling

This is the most common option, perfect for habits you do on a regular weekly basis.

  • Daily: Choose this if you want the habit to appear every single day.

  • Specific Weekdays: Tap on the specific days of the week you want the habit to appear.

    • Example: Set a "Workout" habit to repeat on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Interval Scheduling

This option is ideal for habits that don't fall on the same day each week, but rather after a set number of days has passed.

How it works: Choose the "Interval" option and then select the frequency, such as "Every 2 days," "Every 3 days," etc.1

Habitify will also show you the 3 upcoming days of the habit with the currently configured interval in the setting.

  • Example: A habit like "Water the plants" can be set to repeat every 5 days.

Monthly Scheduling

This is perfect for recurring monthly tasks like paying bills, submitting reports, or doing a personal review.

How it works: Choose the "Monthly" option. You can set it to repeat on one or some specific dates in the month.

A Note on Longer Intervals

Habitify is designed based on the concept that a "habit" is an action performed with a relatively high frequency (at least once a month) to build consistency and automaticity.

Because of this focus, we do not currently support repetition for longer intervals such as "every 2 months" or "once a year."

We hope to add more flexibility for tracking these kinds of long-term goals in the future.
