Switch from Personal to Family plan on iOS

How to change your Habitify subscription from a personal monthly/yearly plan to the Family (Shareable) plan via Apple, plus tips and troubleshooting.

Who this is for

Anyone currently on a personal Monthly or Yearly Habitify plan who wants to switch to the Family (Shareable) plan on iOS. No refund is needed for this change.

Key points

  • No refund needed when moving from a personal Monthly/Yearly plan (Apple) to Family. Apple will start Family immediately and pro-rate any remaining time as a credit.

  • Plan names/prices are localized by Apple. The Family plan may appear as “Family”, “Family (Shareable)”, or similar, and pricing shows in your local currency.

  • If you purchased Lifetime (Apple), Apple doesn’t support a direct switch to Family. You can buy Family separately, or seek a refund from Apple for Lifetime, then purchase Family.

  • If you purchased on the web (Paddle), Apple’s Subscriptions screen won’t show Family for you until you buy via Apple. See the Paddle section below.

How to switch on iPhone (Apple subscriptions)

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.

  2. Tap [Your Name] > Subscriptions.

  3. Tap Habitify.

  4. Tap See All Plans / View Plans.

  5. Select the Family (Shareable) plan and confirm with your Apple ID. Apple will show the exact price (taxes/region included).

Tip: In the Habitify app, you can also go to Upgrade and switch the toggle at the top from Personal to Family, then choose your plan.

After you switch

  1. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Habitify and make sure Share with Family is turned ON.

  2. Ask your family members to install/open Habitify. If Premium doesn’t appear, they can go to Habitify > Settings > Payment & Billing > Restore Purchases.

If you purchased Habitify on the web (Paddle)

If Habitify doesn’t appear under Settings > Subscriptions, your current subscription is likely via our website (Paddle). To move to Family:

  • Option A (no overlap): Cancel your web subscription so it won’t renew. When it expires, open Habitify on iOS and purchase the Family plan.

  • Option B (switch sooner): Purchase the Family plan on iOS now. Then contact us with your latest Paddle receipt number (e.g., 94263712-145941055) and we’ll cancel the web subscription for you. Note: We can refund web orders if the last charge is within 7 days.

Troubleshooting

  • I don’t see the Family option. Update Habitify from the App Store, force-quit and reopen. Then check Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Habitify > See All Plans again.

  • The plan names look different. This is normal; names vary by region/language. Look for the plan marked Family or Shareable.

  • Still stuck? Send us a screenshot of your “See All Plans” screen in Apple Subscriptions, and tell us where you originally purchased (Apple vs. web/Paddle). We’ll help you complete the switch.

That’s it! Once switched, your Family plan will be shareable with your Apple Family Sharing group across your Apple devices.
