In the Hallow app, you have the ability to establish specific groups for prayer and fellowship, enabling you to connect with others on a more personal level as you journey through content together and pray for one another.
How to create a group
From the Church tab, tap the hamburger menu ☰ in the upper-left corner.
Scroll down and tap Create a Group.
Fill out your group details:
Group Name: up to 60 characters
Group Bio: up to 400 characters
Profile Photo: upload your own or choose a pre-generated image.
Review the Community Guidelines once you create your group.
If you’re part of a Church community, you’ll be asked if you’d like your group to be part of it.
Tap Continue to include it in your Church.
Tap Skip if you’d prefer the group to remain independent.
Please note that Parish Admins can remove or unlink a small group anytime from their settings.
6. You can optionally select a piece of content for your group to pray with, such as a Bible Study, Book Club, Challenge, or Course. Some collections may require a free trial or subscription to access.
7. Tap Select and Continue.
8. Choose the start date for your group’s prayer collection.
9. Review your Group Summary and tap Create Group when you’re ready.
10. Once created, you can start inviting friends to join and pray together.
If you’re not part of a Church community, simply tap Skip when asked whether to link your group to a Church, everything else works the same!
Navigating and Linking Small Groups
From your Church tab, tap the hamburger menu (☰) to switch between your main church page and any small groups you’re part of.
Tap Your Church at the top of the list to return to the main parish page.
When you link a group to your parish, it becomes part of your Church’s community space:
The group will appear under your Church’s list of small groups.
Parish admins can view and manage visibility or unlink the group at any time.
Linked groups appear under the Church tab, while unlinked groups are only visible under the Friends view and remain private to members you invite.
If you’re looking to make a recently created group private or manage group settings such as updating group details, managing members, adjusting permissions, and setting up automatic welcome messages and introductions for new members, you can follow the steps in this article.
We’re always here to help when you need it. You can reach out through this purple chat window on the bottom-right corner or e-mail us at support@hallow.app
