Schedule Your Complimentary Design Session
After checkout, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to connect with our Design Concierge — either by scheduling a short virtual session or working directly via email.
Meet With Your Design Concierge
During your consultation (virtual or email-based), a Hampden designer will help you refine your ideas and prepare your custom caseback engraving.
You can upload photos, handwriting samples, sketches, or logos.
Or simply describe your idea — we’ll create options for you to review.
Approve Your Digital Proof
Once your design is ready within 3-5 business days, we’ll send a digital preview for feedback and approval before engraving begins.
Production Begins
After approval, your design is engraved in our Chicago workshop. Typical production time is 10 business days after design approval, followed by shipping and delivery updates via email.

Can I revise my design?
Yes. You’ll have the opportunity to review and approve a digital proof before engraving begins. Once production starts, no further changes can be made.
Is there an extra cost for engraving?
No. Caseback engraving and your Design Concierge session are included with every modern Hampden watch.
Handwritten Notes & Signatures
Our most popular engraving style is also our most personal — a handwritten message or signature engraved exactly as it was written.
Hampden’s advanced engraving process captures even the finest subtleties of pen strokes and spacing, so you can recognize the handwriting of someone you love.
To include a handwritten note or signature:
Write your message or signature clearly on plain white paper.
Take a well-lit photo of it with your phone.
Email us along with your order number.
We can engrave a full handwritten message, or combine a typed message with a scanned handwritten signature — a popular option for anniversary gifts or memorial engravings.
Each handwritten engraving is reviewed by our design team to ensure the natural character of the writing is preserved beautifully in metal.
