Moving from learning to investing is a significant step in your stewardship journey.

Here is a clear breakdown of the onboarding process for a Harvest Invest account.

The Onboarding Process

1. Application (10 Minutes)

To open a regulated brokerage account, we are required by law to collect specific information. This includes:

  • Plan Selection: Subscribing to the Invest plan ($10/month).

    • Note - you will be forwarded to Stripe checkout.

  • Account Type: After successful checkout -> select your account type

    • Note - Brokerage-only, IRAs coming soon.

  • Identity Verification: Providing your Name, U.S. Residential Address, Date of Birth, and Social Security Number (SSN).

  • Financial Profile: Disclosing your employment status, approximate income, and net worth to help us ensure your portfolio is suitable for your goals.

2. Identity Verification (1-2 Business Days)

Your application is processed through our partner and custodian, Alpaca Securities LLC.

  • Automatic Approval: Most accounts are verified automatically within 24–48 hours.

  • Manual Review: If our system cannot verify your data instantly, you will receive an email requesting a secure upload of a Driver’s License, Passport, or Proof of Address (Utility bill or Bank statement).

    • Common reasons:

      • If you have a very common name it is likely that your account will require manual review

      • If your address is used by many different people (i.e. University campus address) you will likely need to verify your address.

3. Portfolio Personalization

Once approved, you will answer 9 simple questions regarding your investment timeline and risk tolerance. We use this data to recommend a faith-aligned portfolio that fits your specific needs.


What You’ll Need

To ensure a smooth setup, please have the following ready:

  • A valid Social Security Number (Required for tax reporting).

  • A U.S. Residential Address (P.O. Boxes are not permitted for account opening).

  • Your Bank Login (To link your account via our secure partner, Plaid, for funding).

We take our role as fiduciaries seriously. Your sensitive data is never stored unnecessarily and is protected using bank-level encryption.

  • SEC-Registered: Harvest is a Registered Investment Adviser.

    • Registration does not imply endorsement by the SEC. Investing involves risk; returns are not guaranteed.

  • SIPC Protected: Your securities are held at our custodian (Alpaca Securities) and are protected up to $500,000 (including $250,000 for claims for cash) by the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC).
