Understanding PREQUAL Categories
Prequalification questionnaires are customised to reflect the size and complexity of the contractor, so it is vital to ensure you are in the correct category.
Sole Trader - Any sole proprietor business, including limited liability sole traders.
Category 3: Larger Contractor - Two options:
A larger contractor with 16+ workers
Any size contractor using one or more subcontractor organisations. Note: 'Subcontractor' does not include sole traders or contract employees
Category 4: Main Controlling Contractor - Usually employed directly by the client to control/manage the entire job or project, providing H&S management systems and processes for the work, setting reporting requirements, and reporting back to the client.
