Creating a SWMS using a template

  1. Open the HazardCo App, click on the SWMS option on the Home Screen

  2. Click on the “Use a template” option

  3. Select the appropriate SWMS template from the list and click the ‘Use’ option. If there is no suitable template then you can always create a new SWMS.

  4. Click on any of the 'Edit' options on the review screen to update the details of the SWMS template so that it reflects the work you are preparing it for.

The most important things to update are:

  1. Site location and Principal Contractor (if you have scanned onto the site then this field will be automatically populated if you select that site address)

  2. Identify any hazards that are present

  3. Select any appropriate controls to be put in place for those hazards

  4. Select any equipment that you will be using to complete the work

  5. Select the controls to be put in place for using that equipment

  6. Select any PPE required to carry out the work

  7. Review, update and add any work task steps as required so that they reflect of the work to be carried out

  8. Review your SWMS before signing and saving it. You can also save your SWMS as a new template if you wish to use the information entered again in the future.
