Key things to update in your SWMS

  • Where you're working

  • What kind of work you're doing

  • Hazards of the work

  • Equipment and tools you’ll be using

  • Controls you’ll be implementing to stay safe

  • Safety gear (PPE) you'll be using

  • Step-by-step instructions for how the work will be completed safely

Important Note: Not all jobs need a safety plan. Ask if you're not sure!

Tips:

  • Review everything carefully

  • Save your plan as a new template so it’s even faster to create a SWMS for the same sort of work next time. You can save a template:

    • On the success page directly after creating your SWMS

    • From My Reports, find the SWMS you want to reuse, open the Options menu, and tap ‘Save as Template’.
