It's best practice to have some site rules in place for your site.

Site Health and Safety rules

These rules apply to all workers and contractors. Contact the supervisor for further questions or issues.

  • All workers (employees and contractors) to comply with all health and safety requirements on-site

  • SWMS to be completed for all High Risk Construction Work

  • Licences required for high risk work

  • No high risk work to be undertaken alone

  • Report all incidents to the supervisor

  • All workers to have white/red cards

  • Safety signs are to be followed

  • Excavations over 1.5 metres deep are to be shored, shielded or battered

  • Follow relevant No Go Zone / Danger Zone clearance requirements when working near overhead power lines.

  • Keep two steps from the top of a stepladder and three steps from the top of a straight ladder

  • Ladders to be secured at a slope of 4:1

  • Ladders to be industrial and 120kg Safe Working Load

  • Harnesses only used for minor work

  • Provide fall protection for work over 2 metres

  • Only licensed scaffolders to erect, alter or dismantle scaffolds over four metres high

  • Don't remove guard rails or scaffold components unless authorised

  • Mobile plant operators to have appropriate qualifications

  • Mobile plant to have warning light and alarm, and service records

  • Hi-vis vests worn around mobile plant

  • Electrical leads to be tested and tagged every three months

  • RCDs to be tested and tagged regularly

  • Electrical leads to be up off the ground in a tidy manner

  • 10 amp leads not to exceed 35 metres high

  • Industrial multi-plug devices to be used

  • All hazardous substances added to the register and provide access to SDS details

  • Fit flashback arrestors to gas hoses

  • Wear PPE when welding or gas cutting

  • Use vacuum and wear PPE if cutting MDF

  • Dry cutting, grinding or polishing silica containing products must not be undertaken without adequate engineering controls and Respiratory Protective Equipment.

  • Wear appropriate PPE at all times

  • No harassment, bullying, discrimination, vandalism or bad behaviour

  • No illegal drugs or alcohol on-site

  • Follow SunSmart requirements

  • Use correct manual handling procedures

  • Keep your work area clean and tidy

  • No children or animals allowed on-site

  • Do no walk through barricaded areas or exclusion zones
