If you don’t yet have a domain for your website, don’t worry — there are a few simple options, and our team is here to support you whichever way you choose.

Option 1: We purchase the domain on your behalf

If you’d prefer not to handle the setup yourself, we can purchase the domain for you. If at any point you leave Healthera, we will fully transfer ownership of the domain to you — so you stay in control.

Option 2: You purchase and control the domain yourself

You can buy the domain directly (e.g., through a registrar like GoDaddy or 123 Reg) and give our Onboarding team delegated access. This way, you keep full ownership at all times. If you ever decide to leave Healthera, the domain remains entirely yours, with no action needed.

Option 3: Transfer an existing domain you already own

If you already have a domain with another provider, we can help you transfer or connect it, so we can access and set up your new website smoothly. Get in touch with us at onboarding@healthera.co.uk and our expert team will guide you through it.

Option 1: Purchasing a domain

You can use any domain provider, however we would recommend GoDaddy. It is simple and straightforward to purchase, and share access.

In the search bar at the top, type in the domain you would like for your website. Many pharmacies choose a domain name that closely aligns with, and is easily recognisable as their pharmacy e.g. healtherapharmacy.co.uk.

Click 'Search Domains'.

If the domain name you have searched for is available, you will see an 'Exact match' offer. Click 'Make it Yours'.

If the domain name you have searched for is already in use, you will see 'Domain Taken'. GoDaddy will suggest an alternative domain option. You can select 'Make it Yours', or repeat this step to search for alternative domain names.

Once you have found a domain name that is suitable, click 'Make it Yours' and then click on the shopping cart in the top right hand corner.

Then select how many years you would like to purchase the domain for, as well as whether you would like to add on Domain Protection. Click 'Continue to Cart'.

You will then be taken to another screen, select any add ons and then click 'Continue to Cart'.

You will then be taken through to a summary of your order. Check everything is correct, then click 'Ready for Checkout'.

You will then be directed to enter your payment information and complete your purchase.

Option 2: Delegating access with GoDaddy

Log in to GoDaddy with the account you purchased your domain with.

From the drop down in the right hand corner, select 'Account Settings'.

Click 'Account Settings' and then 'Delegate Access'.

Under the heading 'People who can access my account', select '+Invite to Access'

Fill out the details of the Healthera team member you are delegating access to. This should be onboarding@healthera.co.uk, unless otherwise specified.

Make sure to select 'Domains Only' as the access level. Click 'Invite'.

The Onboarding team will then have access to your domain.

What happens if I do not set up a domain for my website?

If you have not liaised with the team to get your domain set up, we will set your website live on a Healthera provided domain e.g. yourpharmacyname.healthera.co.uk.

It is worth noting, that having your own domain set up will greatly improve your SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). If you leave your website set up on yourpharmacyname.healthera.co.uk, your pharmacy is less likely to come up in an internet search when patients are looking for your website. To improve traffic through the website and increase your online presence, we strongly advise transferring this to your own domain.
