How to Join a Pharmacy First Video Consultation

This guide walks you through joining a Pharmacy First (England) video consultation directly from your Healthera calendar. You'll learn how to find the appointment, start the video call, use the in-call chat and features.

Before you start

  • Video consultations open in a new browser tab. Make sure your browser allows pop-ups from connectme.healthera.co.uk.

  • You'll need to grant the browser access to your camera and microphone the first time you join a call.

  • A quiet, well-lit space and a stable internet connection will give you and the patient the best experience.


Step-by-step guide

1. Open your calendar

2. Open the appointment

Click on the appointment you'd like to join — for example, "Pharmacy First (England)".

3. Click "Join video call"

On the appointment details page, click the Join video call button in the top right.

4. Set up your camera and microphone

A new browser tab will open with the video call lobby. Turn on your camera and microphone, check your settings, and click Join when you're ready to enter the consultation.

💡 Tip: Use Test your mic if you want to confirm your audio is working before joining.


Using the in-call tools

Open the chat

To send the patient a message during the call, click the Chat icon at the bottom of the screen.

Send a message

Type your message into the Type a message… field and press Enter to send. Each message is limited to 256 characters.

💡 Tip: The chat is great for sharing things that are easier to read than to say — for example, a website link, a medication name, or a phone number.

Raise your hand

Click the Raise hand icon at the bottom of the screen if you'd like to signal the patient — useful in group sessions or when someone is speaking.

To lower your hand again, click the same icon (now labelled Lower).


Ending the consultation

Once the consultation is finished, click the Leave button in the bottom-right corner of the screen to end the call.

After leaving, you can return to the appointment in your calendar to complete the Outcome step and any post-consultation actions.
