This step-by-step guide walks users through how to download and install the Hearsay Extractor on both Windows and Mac computers. It includes detailed steps for each operating system, including how to identify your Mac processor type and how to properly install the application before launching it.
Windows (PC)
Step 1: Go to download page
Go to usehearsay.com/download and click Download Extractor for Windows PC.
Step 2: Open downloaded file
Once the download is complete, double-click the downloaded file to begin installation. You can access it from your browser’s downloads bar or by opening your Downloads folder.
Step 3: Complete installation
When prompted, select Only for me, then click Install.
After the installation finishes, click Finish.
Step 4: Open the Hearsay Extractor
Go to your desktop or Start menu and double-click Hearsay Extractor to open the app and begin the extraction process.

Mac
Step 1: Go to the download page
Go to usehearsay.com/download and click the button that matches your Mac’s processor type: Intel Mac or M-Series Mac.
Not sure if your Mac has an Intel or M-Series chip?
Click the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen
Select About This Mac
In the first row, look for Chip
If it says Apple M1, M2, or M3 → choose M-Series Mac
If it says Intel → choose Intel Mac
Step 2: Open the downloaded file
After the download completes, double-click the file to begin installation.
Step 3: Move to Applications folder
Drag the Hearsay Extractor app icon into your Applications folder.
This step is required. The app will not function correctly if launched directly from the download file.
Step 4: Launch the Hearsay Extractor
Open your Applications folder and double-click Hearsay Extractor to launch the app and start the extraction process.
