How to tag messages

Tags help organize messages by issue, topic, or relevance to simplify case review and reporting.

Updated over a week ago

This article explains how to tag individual messages, apply tags in bulk, and tag messages by keyword. Tags can be created directly while reviewing conversations and are automatically saved at the case level for reuse across the case in searches, reports, and exports.

Tagging Messages Individually

Step 1: Open a conversation

Open a conversation from your case to view the extracted messages.

Step 2: Click the Tag icon

Click the Tag icon next to the message you want to tag.

Step 3: Select or create tag

In the Add tag to window, click into the "Search for a tag" field to select an existing tag or create a new one.

Step 4: Apply the tag(s)

Multiple tags can be added to the same message. Once the proper tags are applied, click the Add Tag button.

The tag is saved at the case level and will appear in Case Settings → Tags, bulk tagging, and keyword tagging.

How tags are displayed in conversation review portal:

Once a message is tagged, the tag appears next to each message it’s assigned to.

Step 4: Choose or create a tag

Step 5: Confirm bulk tagging

Bulk tag messages by keyword

Step 1: Search by keyword

Select the conversation to search and enter a keyword (three or more characters) in the Keyword Search bar.

If the search returns results to tag, click Add Tag above the list.

Step 3: Choose or create a tag

Select an existing tag or click Create Tag to add a new one.

Step 4: Apply the tag

Click Add Tag to assign it to all messages returned containing that keyword.
