No, Heart & Body Naturals is not currently a member of, nor certified by, the US Hemp Authority.

The US Hemp Authority is a self-governing organization launched in 2018 by the US Hemp Roundtable, Hemp Industries Association, and the American Herbal Products Association. It is not a part of, or overseen by, the US government in any way.

Along with many other Hemp Industry participants, we believe there are flaws in the US Hemp Authority certification program as currently implemented. The certification does not require any notice regarding GMOs, it does not require organic practices, and it does not require the country of origin where the hemp is grown and manufactured. Worst of all, it allows for certification of synthetic cannabinoids.

Also of note is the fact that many of the first-round verifiers are board members of the US Hemp Roundtable, who were the original funders of the certification program and steered its requirements. A voting member seat on the Round Table board can be had for 25k a year, making the certification program, in our opinion, a "pay to play" situation.

We consider the current certification program just another way for these big companies to try and choke out the little guy. We will neither approve of, nor participate, in the US Hemp Authority certification program until it is a true third-party certification seal that actually protects consumers and does not give them a false sense of security.
