How to Filter for Purchasers vs Non-Purchasers

Heatmap allows you to easily compare the behavior of users who made a purchase versus those who didn't. This powerful filtering capability can provide valuable insights into what drives conversions on your site. Here's how to set it up:

1. Open Your Heatmap

Navigate to the heatmap for the page you want to analyze.

2. Access the Filters Menu

Look for the "Filters" option, typically located near the top of the heatmap view.

3. Select the Purchase Filter

In the Filters menu, find the "Purchase" or "Conversion" filter option.

4. Choose Purchasers

To view data for users who made a purchase, select "Purchasers" or "Converted" from the dropdown.

5. Apply the Filter

Click "Apply" or "Update" to refresh the heatmap with data only from users who made a purchase.

6. Analyze Purchaser Behavior

Take note of where purchasers click, how far they scroll, and which elements they interact with most.

7. Switch to Non-Purchasers

Go back to the Filters menu and change the selection to "Non-Purchasers" or "Non-Converted".

8. Apply the Filter Again

Click "Apply" to update the heatmap with non-purchaser data.

9. Compare the Differences

Look for key differences in behavior between purchasers and non-purchasers. This can highlight areas for improvement or optimization.

10. Use Comparison Mode (Optional)

For a side-by-side view, use Heatmap's Comparison Mode to see purchaser and non-purchaser data simultaneously.

Pro Tip: Combine the purchase filter with other filters like traffic source or device type for even more granular insights into user behavior.

By analyzing the differences between purchasers and non-purchasers, you can identify opportunities to improve your conversion funnel and optimize your site for better performance.
