Can I select custom areas on a heatmap for specific data?

Yes, you can view specific data for particular areas on your heatmap. While our approach has evolved to provide a more streamlined user experience, you can still easily access detailed information for specific elements on your heatmap. Here's what you need to know:

1. Changes to Custom Selection

Previously, we offered a custom box mode that allowed users to draw boxes around specific elements on the heatmap. This feature has been deprecated in favor of a more intuitive and efficient method.

2. Current Method: Hover Mode

We've introduced a hover mode that allows you to quickly and easily view data for specific elements without the need to manually draw boxes. Here's how it works:

a) Accessing Hover Mode:

- Open your heatmap

- The hover mode is automatically active

b) Viewing Element-Specific Data:

- Simply move your cursor over any element on the heatmap

- A popup will appear showing the data associated with that specific element

c) Data Displayed:

- The popup typically includes information such as:

- Number of clicks

- Click rate

- Revenue generated (if applicable)

- Other relevant metrics specific to that element

3. Benefits of Hover Mode

- Faster Analysis: Quickly scan multiple elements without needing to draw boxes

- Precise Data: Get accurate data for even small or irregularly shaped elements

- Reduced Clutter: Keep your heatmap clear of manual drawings

- Easy Comparison: Swiftly move between elements to compare data

4. Tips for Effective Use

- Hover over various elements to get a comprehensive understanding of your page's performance

- Pay attention to elements with unexpectedly high or low engagement

- Use this feature in conjunction with filters for more detailed analysis

- Compare similar elements across different pages to identify patterns

5. Additional Analysis Tools

While the hover mode provides quick insights, remember that you can still use other tools for deeper analysis:

- Data Tables: For a more comprehensive view of all elements' performance

- Comparison Mode: To compare data across different segments or time periods

- Export Features: To conduct further analysis offline or create reports

By utilizing the hover mode, you can efficiently gather specific data about elements on your heatmap, allowing for quick insights and informed decision-making about your website's design and user experience.
