Quick Answer

Use Interactive Mode to position your mobile menu, then switch to Data Mode to see the heatmap data for those menu elements.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open the heatmap page you’d like to analyze.

  2. Click "Interactive Mode" in the top navigation, which is located right by the 'Data Mode' button

    • Note: This temporarily hides the heatmap data points

    • The Interactive Mode feature allows you to interact with certain interactive elements, like dropdown menus, sliders, FAQs, and close pop-ups as if you’re on the live site.

  3. Locate your mobile Navigation menu and collapse it to view your sub menus

  4. Position the menu exactly as you want to analyze it

    • Expand dropdowns if needed

    • Open any submenus you want to analyze

  5. Switch back to "Data Mode"

    • Your heatmap data will now display over the menu in its current position

Pro Tips

  • You can use this method to analyze any interactive elements, not just menus

  • Make sure to capture the menu in the exact position you want to analyze

  • The heatmap will display data for all areas that were clicked while the menu was open

  • The Interactive mode feature does not support elements that redirect the page.
Hence, such elements (like the CTA Button) are inactive when clicked.

Common Issues

  • If you don't see any data, ensure your menu has received enough traffic to generate heatmap data

  • If the menu closes when switching modes, try again and switch modes more quickly
