Common Causes
There could be a few reasons for why you're not seeing any data or low data in your Dashboard. Most issues come down to one of these:
The tracking snippet isn't installed or published correctly
The Site ID in the snippet doesn't match the one in your Heatmap account
The site has very low traffic, or the snippet is only running on certain pages (ie: 3rd-Party Landing pages might not have the snippet installed)
A cookie consent banner is blocking the script until visitors accept
The dashboard is filtered to the wrong property, date range, or segment. (Note: Data will only show from the timeframe after the snippet was installed; no data can retroactively populate.)
Data Troubleshooting
There are a few ways you can troubleshoot this data issue.
1. Make sure the snippet is installed
Open your website in a browser.
Right-click the page → Inspect → open the Elements (DOM) panel.
Look in the
<head>section and confirm the Heatmap snippet is present.Pro Tip: If your site uses a tag manager or CMS, make sure the change is published and not just saved as a draft.
If you just added the snippet, wait a few hours since it can take some time before the new data appears in the dashboard.
2. Check to see if the Heatmap snippet is firing
Refresh the page you’re testing.
Open Developer Tools → Console.
Search for “Heatmap” or look for a message like “Heatmap is initializing.”
If you don’t see it:
Confirm the snippet loads on this specific URL (it may only be on some templates/pages).
Check whether a cookie consent banner is blocking the script before acceptance.
3. Review your dashboard filters
Verify that the right date range, property, and site are selected. Try expanding the range to "Last 30 Days" to confirm data visibility.
