Getting Started
Launch the Heatmap Chrome Extension.
You’ll see a primary option: Begin Scan.
The extension's landing screen — Wilson prompts you to begin your first scan.
Running a Page Scan
Click Begin Scan.
Wilson, your AI CRO Expert, scans your webpage and analyses each section until the scan reaches 100% completion.
Once the scan is complete, your results are automatically saved in a Scan File.
Click to review and analyse your page insights.
Wilson analyses the page in real time across UX, code, and speed.
Understanding Your Results
After opening the scan results, you can:
Review the AI-generated analysis of your webpage.
Click Pin Chat to receive more detailed insights and recommendations.
Click Re-run Scan at any time to perform a fresh analysis.
Scan results surface prioritized, actionable to-dos.

Explore the Heatmap and Journey Analysis tabs through an interactive demo to see how these features work.
To do this:
Access the menu icon
Select the Heatmap tab or Journey Analysis tab
Click the Start Tracking button
Interact with elements on your current webpage
Live click-tracking demo.
Journey analysis demo on a real page.
Important: Do not click on links or elements that redirect during the heatmap demo — this navigates away and stops the current tracking session. Links can be clicked in the Journey Analysis demo. The tracking session is for demonstration purposes only; data generated will not be saved after the demo ends.
Free Version Limitations
The free version provides access to Wilson's page scanning and AI assistance but has limited functionality.
The following features are not available in the free version:
Dashboard
Analytics
Surveys
Screen Recordings
These features require a Heatmap account and an active plan.
Unlocking the Full Experience
To access all extension features, click any of the following buttons:
Unlock
Start Free Trial
You'll be prompted to sign up or log in to your Heatmap account.
Upgrade prompts appear contextually — e.g. unlocking Surveys, or starting a free trial from Settings.
Note: The free trial includes limited usage based on the trial allowance.

Getting Started
Launch the Heatmap Chrome Extension.
Log in to your Heatmap account.
Once logged in, you'll have full access to all extension features and your Heatmap data.
Click the Menu icon to navigate through the available features:
Dashboard
Analytics
Funnels
Heatmaps
Journey Analysis
Recordings
Surveys
Education
Settings
The full feature menu, unlocked after logging in.
How to Use Them
Click any feature you'd like to explore (for example, Dashboard).
The selected page will populate with your website's data, metrics, and performance trends.
Review the available insights and analyze your website's performance.
Use the available filters and date range options to customize your analysis.
Click Pin to Chat to ask Wilson for additional insights or explanations about any trends or metrics displayed.
Click Go to Heatmap to open the full Heatmap platform for more advanced reporting and analysis.
The Dashboard surfaces alerts, trends, and one-click access to Wilson for deeper analysis.
Using the Heatmap
Within the Heatmap feature, you can:
View Click Maps to understand where visitors interact most.
View Scroll Maps to see how far visitors scroll on your pages.
Switch between Interactive Mode and Data Mode.
Analyze visitor behaviour across different device types.
Filter data using Groups.
Navigate between different website pages.
Analyze individual page elements for clicks, revenue, and user engagement.
For a more comprehensive analysis, click Go to Heatmap to access the full Heatmap platform.
Real, element-level data — clicks, RPC, RPS, AOV, scroll depth, and revenue by page element.

The Go to Heatmap button redirects you to the Heatmap platform, where you can:
Access your complete dashboard.
View advanced analytics and reports.
Analyze Heatmaps in greater detail.
Manage Surveys and Recordings.
Review Journey Analysis and Funnels.
Configure tracking settings.
Access additional tools and account settings.
Tips for Best Results
Run a new page scan after making significant changes to your website.
Review Heatmaps regularly to identify optimization opportunities.
Use Journey Analysis and Funnels together to understand where visitors drop off.
Watch Screen Recordings to gain deeper insights into visitor behaviour.
Ask Wilson specific questions to receive personalized, actionable recommendations.
Use filters and date ranges to compare performance over time.
Visit the full Heatmap platform for advanced reporting and account management.
