Troubleshooting
Note, if you are the Practice Manager, you won't be able to set up the user's integration on their behalf. Instead, each individual clinician in your practice will need to set up the integration following these steps.
📣 To get access to Gentu, you will need to sign up for a Practice Tier plan.
Setup your integration (first user)
The following steps outline how to setup your Heidi integration if you are the first user in your practice to do so. Subsequent users should follow the steps in Setup your integration (subsequent users).
You can identify if you are the first user in your practice to do so by following Step 1 below. If the marketplace button says "Remove from Gentu" instead of "Add to Gentu", your practice has already been connected and you should proceed to the steps in Setup your integration (subsequent users).
1. Navigate to the Gentu Marketplace (bottom icon in the lefthand side menu, below Settings). Look for Heidi, and click Add to Gentu.
2. Agreed to the terms and conditions statement.
3. Copy the pairing code provided. Please note it will only last 5 minutes, and you can regenerate it if it expires.
4. Login to your Heidi account. Click the button on the left hand panel titled "Integrations" and search for Gentu.
5. Enter the pairing code you retrieved in Step 3.
4. Afterwards, enter your first and last name (these are listed in your Gentu settings. You can find this by navigating to Settings > Manage Users. Alternatively you can ask your Practice Manager).
5. After you've successfully integrated, keep note of the Tenant ID and share it with other clinicians in your practice who would like to use the integration.
Setup your integration (subsequent users)
1. If you've navigated to the Marketplace and it shows Heidi is already connected (e.g. instead of "Add to Gentu" it says "Remove from Gentu", ask your colleague/Practice Manager for the Tenant ID.
They can access this by navigating to opening their Heidi account. They can navigate to Settings > EMR Integrations > Gentu > Manage Integrations (on the top right corner of the screen) and the tenant ID will be listed as follows.
2. Once you have the Tenant ID, open your Heidi account. Click the button on the left hand panel titled "Integrations" and search for Gentu. Enter the Tenant ID you have from your colleague/practice manager.
3. Afterwards enter your first and last name as per your Gentu account and connect to the integration.
How to configure Letter Templates
1. Navigate to Settings within Gentu and select
2. From there, under the Templates section, select Letter Templates
3. Select the Letter Template you'd like to use within Heidi, for our example, we'll be using the Test Letter Template
4. Click on the Pencil on the menu bar on the right hand side of your screen to edit the template
5. Once you're within the letter template, simply navigate your cursor to where you would like the body of the letter to be inserted
6. From the top menu bar, select Reference (the leftmost icon)
7. From here, select the Dictation option, and then the 'Voice dictation text' option
8. Now your letter template should have highlighted text with the term 'dictation.text' where you would like the body of your letter to be situated. You can cut and paste this text to where you would like the contents of your letter to be displayed within the template.
9. Hit Save (on the bottom right hand corner of your screen) and navigate back to Heidi.
How to push a Consult Note or a Letter into Gentu
If you want to use your existing Gentu templates in Heidi, you’ll need to configure them first.
1. After successfully connecting to the integration, go to View Sessions
2. Click Appointments (previously labeled Schedule) and click the Calendar icon above to select a date with an appointment
3. Select a scheduled appointment. This will create a new session in Heidi. All appointments brought in from Gentu will be presented with an icon next to it.
4. Perform your consultation as normal. Afterwards, select the arrow next to the 'Push to Gentu' button.
If you've generated a Consultation Note, simply click 'Push entire note' and your note will be available in Gentu. Please note that you can only send Consultation Notes to Gentu from the 'Note' tab within Heidi.
If you've generated the letter on the 'Note' tab within Heidi, click on the arrow on the Push to Gentu button and select 'Push letter'.
Alternatively, if you've generated the letter in a separate tab (other than the Note tab), simply click Push to Gentu.
6. Select the template you would like to insert the contents into and click Push to Gentu
7. Navigate back to Gentu, you will see your letter template used with the content generated from Heidi.
Troubleshooting
If you can't seem to connect to Gentu check if your account has the 'Billing Provider' flag enabled, you can find this by navigating to Settings > Manage Users > Select your user > Practitioner details. If you don't have the appropriate permissions, please ask your Practice Manager.
