What is dictation?

Dictation is a feature where Heidi will write out word-for-word anything you say. Dictation is best used for scribing letters, summaries for yourself, for consults with patients we always recommend using the transcribe tool.

Choose between our two Dictation templates, Smart Dictation, and Word - for - Word. Smart Dictation has been built by our Heidi Team to get the most out of the dictation tool. Experiment with which one is right for you!

How do I dictate?

To use dictation:

  • If you have toggled on 'Recording settings prompt'.

  • Go to Settings β†’ Session settings β†’ Recording settings prompt

  • This will ensure you see the pop-up at the beginning of each session where you can decide if you want to transcribe or dictate.

When you click on the Dictate option, you'll be able to choose the language that you will be dictating in and ensure your microphone input is correct.

Once you have your settings checked click 'Start recording'.

  • If you want to bypass the pop-up, you can select how you want to take the consult by clicking on the arrow in the top right hand side beside the start button.

When you stop the Dictation, Heidi will produce a word-for-word document, similar to a script!

πŸ“£ To create a document or use templates after you dictate, click on 'Create document'!
